Casa Contenta: Gated community located off Soldier Pass Road in West Sedona. Homes are in the $1,000,000. and up price range. This subdivision utilizes the building envelope concept, and home are built in the Santa Fe or Pueblo style. 

Back O Beyond Ranch:  Developed in the late 1990’s and located off of Highway 179, south Sky Mountain Ranch. Gated community utilizing large building envelope concept within lots of one-acre or more on average. Excellent red rock views from all homes sites. No community amenities. Private sewer system. Typically, homes range in the $1,000,000 to over $3,000,000.

Highland Estates: A luxury gated community, located about 5 miles west of Hwy 179, on Verde Valley School Road, which leads to the south or east side of Red Rock Crossing. Secluded, established area with views of Cathedral Rock. Most home sites are 1 acre +. A few older Ranch style homes, with mostly newer homes in a Santa Fe or Pueblo style, and a small number of Contemporary styles.

Mystic Hills: Newer, upscale subdivision, along Hwy 179, just north of Chapel area. Clubhouse, Tennis Courts, Swimming Pool. Generally, excellent views, with a number of home sites backing to Forest Service land. Look for the famous waterfall at the entrance.

Rim Shadows, Canyon Shadows, Northern Shadows and Shadow Rock: Collectively knows as the Shadows Estates, these upscale neighborhoods are still very desirable. Located at the end of Soldier Pass Road, in the Shadow of Coffee Pot Rock. 

A variety of styles abound, with Spanish and Santa Fe style having taken over during the 1990’s. One of the original upscale neighborhoods, providing fantastic red rock views from every homesite.
  
Thunder Mountain Ranch: Developed in the mid 1990’s, this neighborhood is located along Thunder Mountain Road, just west of Dry Creek Road. Mostly new, upscale Santa Fe or Spanish style homes. This subdivision uses the building envelope concept, like Casa Contenta, with open and common areas between home sites. Outstanding views of Capital Butte, Chimney Rock, etc.

Foothills North: Luxury gated community with a rural flavor. Fewer than 20 large, expansive homes on 2.5+ acre home-sites. Located on Dry Creek Road, just north of Color Cove. Some homes border on Forest Service land. One of the first gated luxury communities in Sedona, this neighborhood boasts of fantastic views of the Boynton Canyon area and the Rim. 
North Slopes and The Estates at North Slopes: Two privacy-gated Luxury subdivisions on Dry Creek Road, just north of Foothills North subdivision. Gated communities, with estate sized lots, 2.5 acres or more. Development started in the early to mid 1990’s. Fabulous views of Boynton Canyon and Mongolian Rim areas. A number of homesites border Forest Service land.
